How long will it take you to produce the HIP?
  • Our energy assessor will call you within 2 working days to arrange an appointment and will return the Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) within 2 working days of their visit. This is the certificate frequently used by estate agents as part of their marketing literature.
  • Once we have received EPC from the assessor and completed PIQ from you, we will issue an Interim HIP that will give you right to start marketing.
  • In most cases, Your completed final HIP including various searches (Local Authority, Drainage etc) and the title documents (and Lease where appropriate) from the Land Registry will be available within 10-12 working days from the day you place the order.
Who will own the HIP?
  • You will own the HIP if you, as a home owner of the property, have instructed us to prepare HIP and have made the payment to us.
Do you provide HIPs in my area?
  • Yes, we can provide HIPs in any part of England and Wales.
Are there any add on fees afterwards?
  • No. There are no hidden fees from GreenArch. The price we list on our website is all you need to pay.
Will somebody need to visit my property?
  • Yes, one of our trained Domestic Energy Assessors will contact you shortly after you have placed your order to arrange a convenient time to visit your property. The visit will take approximately one hour. During the home inspection, the assessor will record the key information that affects the energy efficiency of your property. For example, the depth of insulation in the roof, your boiler details etc.
Could our property fail the energy inspection?
  • The energy rating given to your property can be compared to "miles per gallon (mpg)" for a car so you can either have an energy efficient house or not so efficient house and this will be conveyed in the EPC by using bands from A-G. You do not pass or fail the energy inspection.
How will you deliver the HIP to me? Do you provide a paper copy of the HIP?
  • Your HIP will be delivered as an electronic pdf file. This is the format most commonly used to share documents securely and almost all computers will be able to read pdf files. You can then share this pdf file with your estate agent/s and prospective buyers by e-mail or providing them a copy on a CD.
  • A typical HIP would contain more than 50 pages so to save the environment, we would recommend printing them very rarely but if for some reason you or anyone involved in the buying process requires a paper copy, we will be happy to do this and send the colour copy of your HIP by post. Please note that there will be an additional charge of £15 for this service. Please also note that if you or your agent decides to print the HIP, some of the legal documents contained within the HIP ( e.g. land registry document with your house boundary marked in red) will have to be a true colour copy.
How long will the HIP last?
  • If you do not take your property off the market, your HIP will last for as long as it takes to sell your property but if you take your property off the market and then put it back on again, you mey need to replace some of the documents.
